Apportionment Commission

2011 Apportionment

Per MCL 46.401, "Within 60 days after the publication of the latest United States official decennial census figures, the county apportionment commission in each county of this state shall apportion the county into not less than 5 nor more than 35 county commissioner districts..."

The Apportionment Commission, per MCL 46.403, "...shall consist of the county clerk, the county treasurer, the prosecuting attorney, and the statutory county chairperson of each of the 2 political parties..."

The following motion was passed by the Apportionment Commission during their organizational session held April 4, 2011:

MOTION BY LIND THAT IN LIEU OF EVENING MEETINGS, THAT PUBLIC COMMENTS AND MAPS BE ACCEPTED BY EMAIL OR "SNAIL MAIL" SO THAT THOSE THAT CANNOT BE HERE DURING THE DAY MAY HAVE INPUT.  COMMENTS MAY BE THROUGH ANY MEMBER OR THE CLERK'S OFFICE.  Discussion on how the information will reach the public.  SECOND JOHNSON.
