Obtain A... Certified Copy of a Death Record

Death records have been filed with the Leelanau County Clerk’s Office since 1867, and are available to the public.

The minimum fee for a certified copy of a death record is $10.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record at time of purchase.

Requests can be made by calling or emailing the Leelanau County Clerk's Office - clerk@leelanau.gov. Please list the full name and approximate date of death of the individual(s) you would like death certificates for.
