The last Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, and Document Shredding collection of 2020 will be on Saturday, October 24 at the Government Center. This event is for Leelanau County residents only.
*This collection will also offer document shredding*
Documents for shredding need to be brought to the October 24 collection in cardboard boxes, paper bags, or reusable containers (no plastic bags). Shredding will occur at the Comprenew facility in Gaylord.
Acceptable Documents for Shredding: Paper, documents, mailings, folders, x-rays, paperclips, rubber bands.
Unacceptable: - Binders, retaining clips
As always, APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED and we encourage you to call soon for an appointment as SPACE IS LIMITED!

Leelanau County has opened its 9th recycling site. The new location is located at E. Oak St and S. Edwards Ave in the unincorporated village of Leland and will be a temporary site.
All sites accept household materials from Leelanau County households - business recycling at the sites is not allowed. Costs for these sites is paid for with the recycling fee on winter tax bills of households.
Signs on the containers indicate what materials are accepted, and what materials are not accepted. Never leave items on the ground at any of the recycling sites.

Leelanau County has a large quantity of vertical filing cabinets for sale - most are 2- or 4-drawer, and in very good condition, various brands and colors, as-is. These would make perfect storage receptacles for all those COVID sheets you are required to hoard for the next seven years.
2-drawer cabinets are $25; 3-drawer cabinets are $30; and 4-drawer cabinets are $35.
