Utility Billing - Water Rates
Utility Bills are mailed quarterly to all Village Water Customers. Bills are typically sent out around the 1st of the month in January, April, July, and October. Payments are due on the last day of the month. Please refer to your Utility Bill Postcard for exact dates. Not receiving a bill does not waive late charges if paid after the due date. Please note that the Water bill is a regular, expected utility bill.
Utility E-Bill Program
Quarterly water utility bills can be sent to you via email instead of traditional mail. Fill out the E-Bill Request Form and return to the Village of Empire if you wish to take advantage of this option. If you have any difficulties accessing the form electronically, please contact the Village Office and the staff will be happy to provide one to you.
The Village of Empire offers several utility bill payment options:
- ACH Option - Automatic withdrawal from a banking account. Fill out this ACH Authorization Form and return to the office or email to deputyclerk@villageofempire.com. Please include a voided check.
- In-person - Payments can be made in person at the Village Office located at 11518 S. Lacore Rd. We always enjoy seeing our residents and business owners. Cash, Check, and Money Orders can be accepted at the Village Office.
- Mail - Mail checks payable to "Village of Empire", P.O. BOX 253, EMPIRE, MI 49630-0253. Please write your telephone number and utility bill account number on your check. Payment will be recorded on the date received - not the date it is mailed, or the date the check is written. Postmarks will not be accepted. Checks are accepted only as a conditional payment. If not honored, and canceled through the bank, the utility bill remains due. If you desire a receipt, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.
- After-Hours Drop-Box - We encourage the use of the after-hours mail-slot located in the door of the main office located at 11518 S. Lacore Rd. If you desire a receipt, please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.
- Huntington National Bank - Bring payment and a copy of your bill to the local Empire Huntington branch and funds will be applied towards your water payment. Huntington Bank can be reached at 231-357-1010.
