Leelanau County has housing funds available for emergency work on single-family owner-occupied homes. Funds are being administered through Northwest MI Community Action Agency (NMCAA) on behalf of Leelanau County.
Examples of Emergency Projects include: failing furnace, septic, well, broken windows, dangerous or unhealthy conditions.
Homeowners must meet income eligibility requirements, occupy the home as their residence, and agree to a lien (mortgage) on the property if repair is more than $2,500. (Mortgages are deferred with 0% interest and no required monthly payment. Mortgage payable upon transfer of property by sale, death, or conveyance.)
